You can read God into anything if you work hard enough and twist everything around enough.

I think it is rather sad that one can see anything they want to see, even if it isn't there. This goes for anything from religious beliefs to nationalistic beliefs.

Observation through hindsight is not a useful exercise precisely because you can read anything you want into it by picking and choosing the appropriate correlations.

It is for similar reasons why retrospective reviews of journal articles are not considered as rigorous science as double blinded prospective trials.

The bible was a history book. And like the oddesy and the Illiad, it included the modern mythos of the time.

Like if i made a book about WWII and included Superman in it.

That doesn't mean that the magical aspects in the bible are real...
