I am trying to make a check in-log for a list of 750 people and would like every other row to be colored, to ease following the row accross the page. I know I can select ea. individual row all at once using the 'control' key, however then I still have to go through and select 375+ rows. Is there some kind of "fill special" or formula I can use instead?

Just change the color of a couple of the rows the way you want them. Then select the the whole section that you changed. On the lower left of the selection there is a small square. Click and drag the square down the number of rows that you want changed. It will change the format to match the selected rows.

Easy. Color in your first row. Then, highlight that entire row and the non-colored row below it (by clicking on the left cell margin of both). Do EDIT then COPY. Then drag and highlight the rest of your list rows. Select EDIT then PASTE SPECIAL. When the PASTE SPECIAL window opens, choose the PASTE FORMAT function. This will copy ONLY the colors and borders, not any of the text.

I do this every day.

Select the entire worksheet by clicking on the blank box between A and 1. Go to "Format" then "Auto Format". Select the option titled "List 1".

It'll take it a few seconds, but it will shade every-other box for you.
