I was just reading a hypothetical question, directed at Christians. They were asked something like "Two people are dying, a Christian and an atheist, but you can only save one, who do you choose?"
A lot of answers said something like: "I'd save the atheist, because the Christian will go to heaven anyway".
Assuming that there is no God or heaven, it is obviously much safer to be an atheist, right?

heh. well in the case of a fire i suppose it is safer to be an atheist
now i may sound like an a$s for saying this but if i was in the position i would also save the atheist....cause...well...the christian thinks he/shes gonna go to heaven. the atheist knows he/she will die and thats it. so ill save the one who chooses life over death more.
we get 1 shot....thats it. then we die.
ll we can do is hope we get another shot at it.
because lets be honest. an eternity as yourslef? im sure youd be sick of yourself after only a few hundred years.

Actually, you got that answer because there IS a God and a heaven. They would be saving you so that you could also turn from the mistakes and get into heaven before you were in the same situation again. At least that's what a believer's stand point would be most like. Non believers (at least hostile ones like so many are here) would save the athiest just so the christian would die. It all depends on the stand point of the one doing the saving.
I would save the athiest. Why? So the christian gets to go to heaven and the athiest can learn that God is real and also go to heaven.
If there is no God or heaven, then it wouldn't make a difference which you saved now would it? Luckily, there is and it does make a difference. :)

Atheist don't wait for a god to save them when things get rough, so I'd say the atheist needs less help, hence it's safer to be an atheist.

With your assumptions, yes it is safer to be the atheist.
That is a question to wrap your mind around though - if the Christian and the Atheist are in the exact same condition and you can only save one.... Dilly of a pickle there....

I am a Christian and have given my heart to Jesus! I THINK THIS IS A MUCH SAFER WAY OF DOING THINGS BECAUSE IF YOU ARE AN ATHEIST AND DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING, AND TAKE A CHANCE ON ETERNAL LIFE AND I AM RIGHT YOU WILL BE IN HELL FOREVER WHICH NOBODY WANTS. IF I AM WRONG THEN IT WOULDN'T MATTER AS THERE WOULDN'T BE ETERNAL LIFE. GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS YOU TO BE WITH HIM IN HEAVEN FOREVER!

Why don't you just wait and see which side looks better, its called, sitting on the fence. That is what the angels that are reserved for the fire, are said to be doing.

no because assuming is just making an *** out of u and me and besides that the worst of that assumption is that the Fact is God exists and now when the athiest dies He will be burning an eternity in Hell....still better? nooo
