Either they don't know the answer, the question somehow offends them, or else it is just a throw-back to the school yard mentality of:

"My dad can beat up your dad!"
"My dog's better than your dog!"
"My **ck is bigger than your **ck!"

This is just a different forum for people to make those childish claims and insults when their egos are damaged. The major downside is that in this venue, people can remain faceless, nameless, and don't need to back up what they state.

If people felt secure in what they know to be true, they can laugh off the insults and ignorance and not resort to it.

Great question. There are so many so-called "experts" out there who love to spout there wisdom while deriding others. I'm sure 90% of the big time tough guys on here are nowhere close to where they claim to be. They would have to spend 12 hours a day training and another 12 hours telling people how awesome they are. What? No job, no school, no girl? Probably not. Anyways, I hope I didn't insult anyone, especially all you "experts" out there.

Team Quest Rules!

You aint seen nothing yet. Visit the politics board if you REALLY want to see juvinile insults. A lot of it is immaturity &/or insecurity. Some people thing insulting others makes them "tough" (it doesn't). Some think that to build themselves up they must tear others down. Those in either catagory have much to learn before they can be considered true Martial Artists.

I agree but I have also seen some very thoughtful answers written. I guess ya gotta be able to pick through all the junk. Everyone who has a computer can answer on here...lol But, if you are looking for open minded criticism or advice their are some actually looking to help. You aren't in the minority we all get the peanut gallery answering...lol

It is easy for people to insult others through the Internet because they don't have to deal the repercussions.
Also, I notice in the martial arts there are many large egos even though the arts are supposed to teach humility.

It's easier to insult in a faceless forum such as this. So people take out frustrations and feelings on others here.

I see very little in the way of personal insults.

There is some over hyped opinion in here but on balance most folks are respectful.

maybe because some of the questions are so stupid?or some of the askers and answerers are know alls but in fact they know absolutely nothing.the problem is there so vane they wont listen to someone who does know and it gets frustrating when your trying to help someone by giving them good advice and they wont listen(why ask in the first place if you dont want the answer?)or other answerers just give completely stupid and incorrect answers which can get the asker hurt.

Sometimes they do because the questions themselves are insulting...[not directed to you - just my opinion on many here who get insulted.]
