I have been a minister for 35 years, a Baptist, and a Christian. This pastor's response is not normal because he should have been willing to discuss anything with you that would help you to understand the importance of becoming a Christian, including other religions. I believe he probably does not have a formal education and therefore is intimidated by questions he cannot answer, rather than responding honestly by saying he doesn't know and that he would be willing to research it for you if you are sincerely interested in discovering and understanding the truth of the Bible. I am willing to help you with your questions and concerns, if you would like me to. I will answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. You can email me at pastor_rick@stami.org if you really are seeking the truth. May God bless you and I pray that He will restore your mind and return you to your family, who I am sure is very worried and misses you very much. With love in Christ Pastor Rick

This was not normal. He should never have asked the driver to never bring you back!I am so sorry that this happened to you.I will pray for you. Any good preacher will tell you that they welcome the person who has questions because if he is preaching/teaching to those who already know then his sermon is in vane. Many years ago a woman was asked to leave my Dad's church. It was a very small church and my Dad stopped the woman and asked her to come back inside. When Dad asked the deacon why the woman was asked to leave the deacon told Dad that the woman was a well known prostitute.Dad took her by the hand and led her back into the church and sat her down in the front roll.Dad said that it was his job as a preacher to teach those who do not know not just to those who already know. I was never more proud of my Dad in my life as I was that day more than 20 years ago! My Father is one of the kindest and most loving men any one would ever want to know and he was ordained Baptist. He is retired. He is now 90 years old.

There are many "Baptists" out there, but not all are Godly. I am a Baptist, of the Southern Baptist Convention, First Baptist. I hope WE don't do anything as foolish as that! Sorry about your abuse from that so-called pastor. Perhaps you may find a Methodist Church more inviting. Or Assembly of God church. Good Luck.

Why would you visit a Baptist Church? Probably the worst of the worst as far as intolerance and ignorance.
Many other Denominations look peace loving and positively modern compared with them.
P.S.
Now that the Pastor has asked the van driver not to bring you back, is it possible for you to suggest that they make a special trip to some other congregation? Or is the van supplied by the Church?
Best of luck ;)

That is normal for a Baptist church (but not *all* Baptists). You just had a run-in with a Christian fundamentalist. Do yourself a favor - stick to the more traditional forms of Christianity. I have experienced a similar reaction among fundamentalists in the past.

This pastor must be a fundamentalist and does not have a higher education as ministers and priests in other Christian denominations. Can you ask the Home where you reside to have ministers from other denominations visit you or is it a Babtist home? You should have that right as a patient. There are many loving Christians, even Babtist ones! I wish the best for you now and in the future.

a million. If Jesus is the son of God, why ought to God deliver his merely newborn to die very brutally as a fashion to keep us? became there no longer different methods? Did Jesus have any say so in it? It does no longer look like an fairly fatherly an loving difficulty to do, in my opinion. properly, they could say they're one and a similar man or woman, except for at the same time as they were no longer. Why try this, and then be so cryptic about it, at the same time as he would have snapped his fingers? no man or woman has an answer to that. 2. who's to assert that the Christian God is the right God. If we assume of of God as 'one', what's faulty with human beings having diverse beliefs and believing of their own God, see you later as they are not hurting everybody? The Christians say the Christian God is the right God. humorous how that works. 3.at the same time as (I forgot his call, it really is in the former testomony), called upon God to set a drought, why did God (who's above human beings) obey him? Prayer works merely at the same time as it became what god became going to do besides (or so that they are declaring). 4. If the Bible became written by technique of guy, how do we be certain that each and every thing in it really is easily maximum perfect? What about the different those who 'spoke to God' and weren't suggested? The Bible is divinely inspired, meaning men heard issues and instructed others, who ultimately wrote them down after 1000's of years without mistakes. 5. Why are some those who communicate God's be conscious seen prophets, preachers, etc. and by technique of others delusional? because they're declaring what they're declaring without evidence.

Ouchy, this experience must have hurt.
Is this normal.... you ask. Yes, it is normal for the Baptist Church to feel theirs is the only true religion, and Heaven is exclusive for them. Arrrogant don't you think?
I applaud you for asking your questions. Don't stop searching for truths that will resonate with you.
I read your profile... I wonder why you walked out of your previous life? I know you do too. I am interested in your journey... and how it all turns out for you. Keep in touch.

I do not know. It depends on how you asked you questions. Did you get up in the middle of the service and ask questions or did you wait afterwards. Depending on how you did ask questions matters alot. If you did it in the middle of a service, most ministries would put you out, because it causes confusion, distraction, and takes away from the service. You would have to be more specific.

No. Any pastor that knows anything should not be afraid to be asked questions. I hope you ask these questions in order to get real answers and not to antagonize.
Either way, there are good pastors out there that are knowledgable and would love to answer your questions. Don't give up! This type of pastor is actually rare. Most pastors I know are excellent and truly care for their congregation.
