Without seeing what she looks like, I can tell you don't think she's fat. She most likely is a beautiful young girl that should be more worried about matching her clothes then how fat she may or may not be. One of my best friends has always been fat (usually twice the size she should be) and was the coolest girl around. If she's having issues about her weight now, chances are she may later in life. Spoken from experience, be her friend and don't let her be so hung up on it. I am 34 now, and after dealing with an eating disorder as a teen, today I am losing my teeth because of it and my bones break easy. Some of the damage can't be undone once you're older and wiser.

It all depends on your friend's height!

At 12-13 years old...young girls should not be worrying about weight and what they look like. Get plenty of exercise, drink lots of water, eat healthy, stay away from fast food places and enjoy your lives while you are young enough to do so!
Get involved in youth activities, church is a good way to meet other young people and turn that TV off!!
You don't have to be super thin, you just have to be HEALTHY!

Good luck girls!!

it depends on height, not age. figure 100 pounds if you're 5 feet tall and 5 pounds more for every inch over. the 12 and 13 year olds that I taught were all sizes. tell her she needs to ask her doctor about it.

I think it's between 85 lbs and 100 lbs, BUT that can vary greatly because of height and body structure. It sounds like your friend is struggling with a self-esteem issue. Try the sites below:

Good luck! :)
