Ever hear the term, "looking for a needle in a hay stack"? That is what NASA is doing, they are looking for that one tihng, amongst million and billions of other things. Its not an easy search.

70 years is a very, very, very short time to be looking for something in a place as large as the universe.

Why would the search for life be evil or dirty? You don't have the slightest idea what plans God has for us (or NASA). Or do you somehow know more than God?

70??? I thought it would be more like 50.

I don't think NASA actually does that, but other organizations do like SETI, Heaven's Gate and other quacko-wacko outfits.

But I do think space exploration is an excellent thing, and it helps us understand more about how our universe is made. How can that be evil?

God made all this for us. Should we not explore and master it?

Yeah, 70 years of research, and it's time to give up. Medical research took hundreds (arguably thousands) of years to even begin to find treatments & preventions for some of the worlds most common diseases (measles, flu, polio, etc.)--should they have given up after 70 years? And, in case you haven't noticed, the galaxy (even just our solar system) is a pretty big place. I believe in God, and my God wants us to continue to explore the heavens, because learning and growing is a part of the plan....

Microscopic cells were found on mars, I thought.

God also gave us curiosity and a magnificent brain. I don't think He is against space exploration. The space program has given us many inventions we use everyday, and scientists are working on curing diseases in weightless environments that they are unable to work in on earth. The fact that we have the internet is largely, if not entirely, based on satellite technology.
