You have a cat like that too? What you do is get another person in there with you to help hold him down. But you have to make sure he isn't in there when you have the water running because that seems to be most of the problem. Try talking to him in a calm, soothing voice and keep telling him and yourself that it's okay and it will be over soon. You can also try kitty treats before and after his bath, that's if he's good. After his bath and after you have dried him off try wrapping him in a towel and holding him for a while. If that doesn't work open the door and let him hide for a bit. He will come out eventually!!! Good luck!

"Why Bathe Your Cat?

Cats spend hours a day washing themselves. In fact, most can do very well to keep themselves clean without additional help from us. However, there are times when your cat may need a bath:

* When she is covered with a substance you don't want her to lick off and ingest, such as machine oil, pesticides, or cleaning powders and fluids.
* When you need to bathe your cat with medicated shampoo to treat the skin for fleas or other disorders.
* When you are showing your cats - a thorough bath a few days before the show is usually desirable.

For these reasons, it might be better to get your cat acquainted with the bathing concept when she is still young. Small kittens rarely take violent exception to slightly warm water if you approach the job with confidence and soothing talk. Then when you have that emergency need to bathe your cat, the procedure will be familiar."

I put mine in the washing machine...

but seriously, if you need to wash the cat, get somebody to help you. One person to hold the cat carefully staying away from the sharp parts, and the other to wash and scrub.

Otherwise, if you have a shower with doors, throw it in there and hose it down with warm water. Your cat's gonna be really 'pyst-off' though either way.

I have 3 cats, it's definetly a chore. It honestly takes 2 people. Make sure water is luke warm and do not get water on their face or in their ears. I usually do it in the bathroom sink with it almost full, so you can dip them and it won't take as long, less torture. Also, that way you can close the bathroom door so if they get loose they can't go hide.
Anyway - Have somebody hold their legs. One hand holding the front two together and the other hand holding the back two together... kinda how they cook a pig on the stick over the fire.
They make pathetic noises but they're so cute when your done and they're all fluffy!!!

GOOD LUCK

i don't believe of you want to stress. on the only hand, it really is genuinely available that there'll be circumstances once you receives scratched. for instance, in the adventure that your cat is resting on your abdomen, some thing scares him, he takes to the air like a bat out of hell, and leaves skid marks behind. or you're preserving him and he receives scared. or you play too difficult. yet biting isn't inevitable in any respect, and also you are able to genuinely practice your kitten no longer to chew or scratch mainly. I did this with my 2 and they are under no circumstances viscious. the merely scratches we get are from the above circumstances! the secret is to maintain away from taking area in inclusive of your fingers. of route you'll puppy them, yet in no way use your fingers as an option decision to a toy. in case you play a recreation the position you poke at them, use a toy. in the adventure that they ever do chew or scratch, proper now eliminate your hand and say no loudly and firmly. it really is extremely so undemanding as that!

What works best for me is to talk to my cat.
He used to get really angry when we would give him a bath. We used to do it in the sink when he was little, and my dad would help me. But when I started doing it alone, in the bathroom with the door closed, he started calming down. I guess because it's in a less noisy area, he's calm. And then I talk and pet him a lot.
Good Luck!

Don't bathe him. Unless he has gotten into something that required him being washed, there's no need to bathe a cat.

I've been a cat owner for over 30 years and never once have I needed to wash one of my cats. Saves you from getting bitten and scratched too!

If you feel the need to have him bathed, bring him to a groomer that will be able to groom him hopefully hassle free.

ya know how to wash a couch or stuffed toy? With a damp, warm cloth. Try this with the cat. Or you could wrap the cat in a towel and carefully place them in the water. I wouldn't do this repeatedly as their grooming time is ingrained in them. If it is hairballs that are an issue then you can buy food that will assist with this.

If your cat isn't use to a bath it is pretty hard to start now. I've bathed my cats for years but they start getting bathed at 8 weeks. If your cat isn't use to it getting a bath try brushing. If he is terribly dirty from getting into something try long rubber gloves and only wash it's face with a wet washcloth and baby shampoo..

Well i wash my cats in the kitchen sink... If you have someone else to help then have them hold the paws away from you while you wah him.. if you don't have anyone else you could always hold the paws yourself close to the claws so he cant get them out and get you.
