I don't really know, I suppose it could go against their sense of being a group; they want everyone to look the same, thats why they all have their heads shaved and wear the same uniforms and such. But since they are fighting for the freedom of others, I also don't think its right they should not be allowed to tattoo themselves wherever they want.

I think I know some Marines that did have tattoos below the elbow and knee when they were in the service.

no, not at all. I heard about that ban against tattoos and I think it's really messed up. I think the men and women who are in the marines work so hard and are more disciplined than most people are capable of being and they should be able to have whatever tattoos wherever they choose.

I have to say that I don't see what possible difference having a tattoo done can make to one's ability to do this or any other job. This regulation is basically saying, we're more interested in what servicement and women look like than how good they are at what they do, which seems to me to be missing the point by a couple of miles.

No because a tattoo does not effect how well you preform your tasks and duties. Sooner or later, they'll have set so many rules and regulations, it'll be as simple as getting a tattoo to avoid a draft.

nah...they are just tripping. It's a shame to tell someone to go get shot for us and then to question his morals and standards as a human being cause he or she has or wants a tattoo that is in those areas.

shame on us. shame shame shame.

i do not. as long as the tattoos are not offensive or degrading to anyone then they should be allowed to have tattoos. these men and women are defending our lives and they should be free to do with their bodies as they see fit. it is a FREE country afterall right? i guess not.
