So let me get this straight ... your cousin denies the existence of any God, and you claim that there is simply no way to have absolute certain knowledge of God's or gods existence. While I don't agree with either of you...I would consider your position to be a more open minded and therefore a more intelligent approach to theology. You do realize that there are agnostics that are followers of God, that attend church etc.? Maybe not the most effective way to get into heaven, but certainly may open some doors to further enlightenment and faith.

Given you don't know the difference between "his" and "he's", I'm willing to be that *he's* smarter than you. His common sense is just icing on the cake.

How much you know has nothing to do with what you believe at all. I don't know where anyone gets that line of reasoning from, it's a silly idea. Anyone who doesn't believe in what you belive is stupid? Heh, that's like being a 5 year old and calling another kid "poopy head" because they disagree with you.

If you think your nephew, who is an athiest, is smarter than you, are you calling yourself a fool? In that case, convert to atheism.

No, it is up to everyone to get educated in a formal manner and it depends on their drive to get an education. Although I doubt people who belive the world is only 6000 years old are quite smart.

i dont think there such a thing as being smart in religion. it all about belief. maybe someone might be more informed about thoughts. its all really goes down to whos belief is stronger.
