How much do you weigh? If you weigh a lot, then you might want to try Atkin's diet. It's where you severly reduce the amount of Carbohydrates taken in and you lose about 5 to 10 lbs each week for 6 months due to the process called Ketosis where you burn fat which has been dissolved in water into ketones.

Truly you need to see a nutritionist. I'm surprised your coach did not tell you this. For events with weight class such as boxing, traditionally high end athletes will go on a protein only diet coming up to the event, also they will dehydrate themselves right before the weigh in. This is a dangerous pursuit as it often cases your brain goes "funny." Your brain ONLY metabolizes glucose (carbs/sugars).

See a nutritionist to make sure you don't damage yourself.

umm, all I can say is to ride your bike, and work out at a gym, or just do something active. it helps alot. if you do that for a month, and dont find results, then I don't know. Hold off on sweets. And NEVER eat with out being hungry,. eat when you are hungry. and you ca eat anything, but don't eat til you get full. you gain weight that way. that is why you gain weigh in the winter time.

Avoid carbs, and exercise at least 2 hrs a day. Don't completely eliminate carbs from your diet though. Exercising can be anything from running to dancing. Just have strenuous repetitions.

best advice? reschedule the match.. even if you are able to lose 20 pounds of (I assume muscle since you are an athlete) you will be off balance because your body won't have fully adjusted to your new weight...
