If you are married you aren't allowed to file as head of household, but you can file a joint return no matter whether both or only one of you made money. Rates are better anyway for joint that for head of household.

Married filing jointly does NOT mean that you and your spouse made money.

In fact, the opposite is usually true. You made the family's money, and the family is filing one return, together.

if you are married, your filing options are married/jointly, married/seperate, and head of household. Your best bet is jointly if you are the sole income earner. Just enter your w2/1099.

Yes you can file jointly.

Head of household usually means that a spouse is either divorced, or deceased and you have a child at home.

I wish you well...

you have no longer any selection. there is no benefit for a married guy or woman to report Married submitting one after the other. it incredibly is your basically selection different than Married submitting at a similar time. Head of bigger half and childrens is in simple terms used for unmarried dad and mom in actuality.
