Clearly, no one else has real life experience in driving or parking their cars. There are several circumstances in which this is okay.

1) There are no non-handicapped parking spots left to park in. Note that this also requires that there be no cars parked adequately far apart for your car to fit in between them, such that this would not be a parking spot per se, but you could fit your car there.

2) If there are multiple handicap spots open, you may park in them, as long as you leave at least one space open. This is true even when there are open non-handicap spaces.

3) Most police do not actually care to enforce the handicap parking space rule, so if you leave a quarter on top of each tire of your car, the police will not give you a ticket, considering that they can buy several donuts with their bribery earnings.

When you are handicapped and have a handicapped plate or sign hanging from the rear view mirror, or are transporting someone who has brought along their sign to display.

Otherwise I come tow your car away.

Unless you have a handicapped sign from your physician or are driving a person with that symbol either on the tag or has one for the window, it's illegal. most states allow for up to $200.00 per incident if you violate that statute.
