I also did that around that age. They would be 2in long. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

this worked for my 10 year old. when he's sleeping paint his nails pink. when my son got up and seen the pink nails he hit the roof. I told him if he wanted to have long nails like a girl then he could have them painted. I did it on a school morning. I let him sweat it for a few minutes before i gave him the remover. I also got him his own grooming kit. Havn't seen them long in 6 months. Good luck

Do it for him every week. He will get tired of that and it will become a routine. Eventually he will prefer doing it himself as opposed to having to take time out to sit down and let you cut him fingernails. Good luck!

Tell him that his nails look extremely gross. Just Kidding! My brother is doing that right now. I think the best way to deal with this is to keep reminding him, over and over. Eventually, he'll get frustrated, and just do it.

My mom went through this with my middle brother, she fought and fought with him and finally told him if he didn't keep them trimmed short she would paint them red and send him to school...it only took ONCE and he never grew them long again!!! LMAO I remember that day like it was yesterday!

Give him the clippers, tell him its time to cut them and then stand there and watch until he's done. He's the kid, your the parent. Just tell him your not going to fight with him about it and he can't do anything else until he's clipped his nails.
