I can't figure out whether I am allergic to honey. I don't have any swelling of lips or any rashes due to it, however I get an instant head ache just from the smell of honey. I feel nauseous immediately. This morning I had some honey just to try it and now (about 2 hours or so later) i have a major head ache and feel pretty weak. Am i allergic to it? what is going on??

The fact that you got a headache by just smelling it, and then you ate it, and got a headache is not surprising. Your body has a sensitivity, probably not an allergy, but it is rejecting it, like I do to baked beans. (though my reaction is less pleasant to speak of)...

I wouldn't waste the time or $$ on a doctor worrying about it if you don't need to, or if you aren't continously exposed and can't avoid it.

Just stay away from it and you will be fine. Is it that important that you need to have honey in your life? Are your parents honey farmers or something?

Your symptoms are a perfect description of an allergic reaction to something in that honey.
Allergic symptoms vary from person to person and can include rashes, sneezing, shortness of breath, and all of yours.

I would say that you are allergic to it. You should mention this to your doctor the next time you see him and get referred to an allergist.

Honey always contains pollen of flowers whence it is sucked by bees. Pollens of different flowers are very good allergens.
