Just go and ask your doctor, the least he can say is no. It's hard to ask for stuff that you need sometimes, because there are people out there that will abuse the system and make it harder for the rest of us. I suspect he will give you a mild sedative and if there is no history of drug abuse, there shouldn't be a problem.
In saying that, I have been on a plane about 10 times now and it is still not any easier. I don't really take anything for it, and it never gets any easier. I kind of feel that if I was supposed to fly, I would have wings. I think it is the take off and the landing that are the most nerve-wracking, then it is kind of like being in a car. Also let the staff know that it is your first time flying and that you are nervous. I hyperventilate on take off and sometimes the landing too, but I survived a 7 hour flight to Thailand without freaking out too much.

Say something like this, "I am going on a plane for my first time. I am very anxious. Is there anything I can safely take to combat the anxiety?"
He/she should not think that you are a pill popper. The doctor can prescribe you only a few pills if he/she is concerned about it.

Doctor's wont give you something for "kind of nervous".
Do you have a problem with anxiety attacks or panic disorder? Then, yes, you should be able to get a few pills - like someone else said, enough for each flight.

You can ask. The doctor might give you something--but probably only 1 or 2 pills at the most. One for each way.

if this is the first time you have ever asked for something then probably not. however if you have asked for this a lot then he will. one thing is those kind of pills are kind of addictive. so he may not just give it to you for that. maybe try some motion sickness pills that might help. good luck

I recommend you unravel your subject and notice a doctor and get your person drugs prescribed to you. you may desire to make certain what's the subject for you. i does no longer evaluate you a "pill popper". Get your self to a doctor. by ability of ways, you being itchy and drained are ingredient consequence of the medicine and are not reliable. supply up taking them and back, flow to the physician.
