I have found two great resources for questions like yours:
1. http://www.religioustolerance.org
and
2. http://www.beliefnet.com
Just look for the appropriate links.
In regards to 'Hinduism', it's proper term is actually 'Sanatana Dharma' and you will find this link helpful for that: http://www.dharmacentral.com/sanatanadharma.htm
Best wishes with your research!

That's a lot to put in one place.... Will one or two quick facts do?
Zoroastrianism: First true dualist religion, originated in what is now Iraq and Iran. The main deity wrote the music to 2001. (that was a joke, but if you get it, marry me, okay?)
Hinduism: Actually, there are several different Vedic religions called Hinduism collectively. The term comes from Hindi, one of the many languages spoken in India. Mahabarata is the main epic.
Sikhism: I know shockingly little actually, except some of their legal battles and that the religion is generally classified as Vedic. (or neo-vedic)
Shinto: I know that it's not an ism. It is the way of being. Japanese. Most combine it with Buddhism, but it's not really about Buddhism. Animistic.
Google for links.

I don't know enough about the other religions, but i do know enough about Sikhism.
Sikhism is a montheistic religion which belives in one God for all of humanity. we belive in equality for both men and women. There are three things that Sikh must do in his life. To meditate on the one God, to work hard and earn a honest living, and to share with others.
Our Religion was founded in 1469 by our first Guru. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, we read the Sri Guru Granth Sahib which is the only religious scripture that is written by the actual prophets.
there is plenty more but im tired so i will refer you to some websites
Sikhs.org
Wikipedia.org (i have checked it out and it is completey factual)

Hinduism itself is a book... heck Shaivism WITHIN Hinduism is a book unto itself just to name one tiny CHUNK of Hinduism. Hinduismtoday.com and Shaivam.org can illustrate what I'm talking about.

I dont know much about them at hand, but I have read about them. I would suggest going to Wikipedia.com to search for info about them. I read a book called: "Religions of the World" by Spencer J. Palmer.
