Ahhh, WHICH order?
The main 3 faiths to sort them out into "Ten" are:
1- The Jews:
- First Commandment, Ex.20:2.
- Second, Ex.20:3-6.
-Tenth: The whole verse 17 (Ex.20:17)
2- St. Augustine (Catholics and Lutherans):
- First Commandment: Ex.20:2-6.
- Second: Ex.20:7
- Ninth: Ex.20:17... Tenth, the second half of the same verse... v.17 ought to be divided into two because our culture does not consider a wife as a chattel. So she should not be listed with the neighbor's ox and *** as an item of his property.
3- Origin (Orthodox and other Reformed churches):
- First Commandment: Ex.20:2.
- Second: Ex.20:3-6
- Tenth: The whole v.17 (Ex.20:17)

Well first it depends on what version of the bible you have. Some have graven images in with number one while naming two commandments on coveting which other traditions treat as one... Some put worship no other gods, then no graven images, and then just have coveting as the last one. So you either have
1. You shall have no other gods.*
2. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
3. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
4. Honor your father and mother.
5. You shall not murder.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Or you have this version
http://www.bible-knowledge.com/10-Commandments.html.
SO thats the first step. Then you ignore the repetitive Thou Shall not part. Thats obvious and easy to remember. The way I learned them is by association with the number.
#1-who is number 1. God. so there must be no 1 above him.
Not in your mind or in your possessions. Don't make any that look like god. No graven images.
#2-second I remember "if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck" it must be a duck. So you did looks like god (graven images) in the last one..now sounds like god. Don't misspeak about god. Misuse the name of the Lord in vain.
#3- Well, I've thought about God, how he looks and speaks. Now when do I celebrate? SUNDAY! So remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.
#4- Now we move away from God. This one is the most difficult and the one everyone forgets so its the one you just have to keep rereading and rereading until you memorize it. "Honor your father and mother." I think of it as what is most important to a 4 yr old--mommy and daddy.
#5-At the half way point, we start getting into The Rules. It's kinda like sex drugs and rockand roll--there is just certain things that go together. murder, sex, stealing. Seems like thats in order of a top 3 list. The first rule, the most important rule, is murder.
#6-If it's not about murder, it's about sex. No adultery.
#7-No stealing
#8-the number eight just sorta looks to me like in elementary school when people were like oohhh. The big round eyes, big round mouth. So it reminds me of being that young and the worst thing you could do at 8 was lie. Thou shall not lie/give false testimony.
and the last 2 are the internal struggle. The others are behavior stuff but now we get down to the nitty-gritty of it. You shall not covet. Don't envy either the house or the wife. These are the only 2 that are a lil tricky to me b/c all the others seem to be in order. The big things. God has to be #1. Then the crimes-murder, sex, stealing--in order of biggest and baddest. But these two seem out of order in mordern world.
#9-Don't envy the house.
#10-and I remember this one b/c it sorta seems sexual. You have the 1 and the 0 and it's about a man and a woman. Don't covet the wife.
I don't know if any of my associations will help you but they helped me remember them. I found it easier if you have the version of the bible which just has #10 all about coveting with 1-God, 2-images, 3-name in vain. So...you gotta figure out which one you want to memorize first. I hope this actually helps but its very difficult. Some people don't learn by word associations. You have to figure out how you learn best. Some people have to rewrite it over and over. Some just need to reread it over and over. Some people learn in an audio style and have to hear it read and read it out loud. I happen to learn by association, so it was easiest to associate 4 with a 4 yr old, 5 as a list of the RULES, and 10 as Jack Sprat can eat no fat, his wife can eat no lean.

the first four refers to God and His representatives on earth..(1-3 is about God; 4 is about your parents)
1. I am the Lord thy God and thou shalt not have any strange gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day
4. Honor thy Father and Mother.
the last six meant to protect man, these are the "you shall not" commandments.
5. Thou shalt not kill
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not steal
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.

First 5 regard our relationship with God, next 5 regard our relationship to man. However, if you can remember them all, you're doing more than most people. The 2 that matter most, according to Jesus are "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength," and "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Read them over and over, then apply to your daily life. Record them on a CD, and play it all day long. Start by remembering one a day or one every hour. Write each one 50 or more times.

Here's a helpful little fact that helped me memorize them:
The first four have to do with man's relationship to God.
The last six are how man is to relate to fellow men.
Also, they tend to go from biggest and baddest sin(idolatry) to least (or seemingly least) sin (jealousy).
Hope this helps you a little.
