fruit..........we are not to dwell on the gifts from our father amongst ourselves. The gifts are for the good of the church body. There will be many "gifts" that are not from God but appear to be the same. He said we will know what is of the spirit by the fruit it produces. So if you are looking for validation it will be in the fruit not the gifts, signs or wonders. if we only dwell on the gifts we find pride, arrogance, jealousy running amuck in the body to just name a few!

Neither, actually. Jesus said we will know false prophets by their fruit:
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:15-20
Gifts are imperfect without love according to I Corinthians chapter 13.
Jesus tells the disciples in John 13:34-35 that we will be known to be His by our love for each other.
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

God gives everyone gifts. But it is by our fruit that we are known as Christians.

By our fruit.....
The gifts don't save us.
We are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise who is the guarantee of our inheritance.......but the world sees what we produce in the here and now

By his fruit, and someone actually was ignorant enough to take this verse litterally. It means that you will be known by your works, your children, those who follow you; your fruits, the things that manifest from your time on earth.
Keep the faith, Amen.

Mathew 7:20
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Meaning, you can tell by a person's life or lifestyle what they are all about.

Yes and no ... because while we must all have those, as a manifestation of our belief, we must realize that some people have the same qualities of goodness and kindness and they are non-believers or they believe in something else than what we believe in.
