I believe a lot of people are in jail for stupid laws and crimes that hurt no one but themselves, or because its unmoral.

I don't know about alot, but I am sure there are some people in jail for crimes they did not commit. Our system is not perfect and a jury can make mistakes. There are more bad people NOT in jail for crimes they did commit, unfortunately.

No, I actually don't.
I believe a lot of people that should be in jail for things they did are not, and I very much believe that a lot of people are in jail for things they did that should not be crimes.
Given the laws of evidence and criminal procedure, I think that a very minute percentage of people convicted are actually innocent.

It really depends on who you speak to. If you ask those incarcerated, they will all tell you they are innocent. If you ask those outside the walls, they will say all those in prison are guilty.
Personally, I find most are guilty. Once in awhile we will find one who was actually innocent and accidentally placed behind bars. But, as science progresses (forensics), I find those few incidents far and between.
To prevent this from happening in the past, our forefathers introduced checks and balances, court appeals, lawyers, etc., which we still use today. Unfortunately, man is not perfect, so occasionally you will find one or two in prison who shouldn't be there.

Ask any criminal in jail and they'll tell you they didn't do it. They're the victims of racial profiling, a corrupt justice system, poor legal representation; the list goes on and on. No, I think a lot of bad men who are really inconsiderate, irresponsible children are right where they belong.

Well you have to think of it this way, even if they are innocent, they are obviously hanging with the wrong people or they put themselves in a dangerous spot. Sometimes people need to watch who their company is.
