That's what I look for in a politician. A person who is open and honest enough to admit what he/she does not know.

I'm glad you think so. I'm an agnostic*. I'm also a political conservative (kind of like a regular conservative, minus the religious parts) and love politics. Maybe I should become a politician.

* just to clear this up... to me an agnostic is one that is neither religious or atheist. I don't think religion is anything more than something man-made used for controlling people and obtaining power. I believe heavily in evolution. I'm undecided in the existance of supernatural power/life after death. I just don't know. And I don't believe things on just faith. That's illogical.

I think you have a misunderstanding as to what an agnostic is. Classically an agnostic believes in god but doesn't think that god is actively involved in the day-to-day issues of the world. I don't see how your definition works for politicians.

There have been several recent presidents who had absolute belief in God and were willing to admit it and follow the dictates of what they believe, even when those dictates are opposed by a majority of the people who elected them. Now that is really honest.

It is a great unknowable. There may be something out there there may not be. At least they are honest enough to admit this. Maybe you should know but there is no way to actually prove it either way.

Anybody can be honest too, though I agree that agnostics are probably honest in politics, however don't forget that politics can corrupt anybody

like a "flip-flopper" i would rather have someone who makes a decision based on the information they have now, then when more information is provided rethink whats best for the whole.
this is opposed to someone who remains stubborn to rethink the situation when that new information has come to light. this to me is not a sign of strength but a closed mind.

I like agnostics. They dont tend to be all know it all and insulting of others' intelligence like athiests. I have a similar thinking to agnostics, but I still consider myself to believe in 'god' although I have my own idea of god.

honesty in politics.you've got to be kidding. you're suppose to pander to your audience. agnostics are probably the most sane but don't necessarily have to be honest about anything.

Can't trust a person who won't admit whether or not they know something that they should know.
