Although today is a Holy day, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation. Even if it were, you are a parent and must tend to your family first, therefore you would be exempt from the rule requiring your attendance at Mass.
Take care of the child, and get some rest. You will be in my prayers.
Peace be with You.

Holy Thursday, while very beautiful and meaningful, is not a Holy Day of Obligation.
Holy Days of Obligation are feasts on which Catholics are required to assist at Mass.
In the United States these are:
+ Christmas, the Nativity of Jesus, December 25
+ Mary Mother of God, January 1
+ Ascension of the Lord, forty days after Easter
+ Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15
+ All Saints' Day, November 1
+ Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, December 8
Outside the United States, variations of Holy Days may occur.
With love in Christ.

Catholic Holy Days of legal accountability interior the united states: January a million - Mary, mom of God* 40 Days after Easter - Ascension Thursday August 15 - Assumption of Mary* November a million - All Saints' Day* December 8 - Immaculate concept of the Blessed Virgin Mary December 25 - Christmas *whilst those Holy Days fall on a Saturday or Monday, the legal accountability to attend mass is distributed. because of fact the Patroness of the united states is the stainless concept of Mary, the legal accountability to attend mass isn't distributed in spite of if it falls on a Monday or Saturday. So, sure, Catholics are to attend mass immediately.

My RC Calendar has it marked as a Holy Day of Obligation (it's purple).
My RCIA instructor said you can call and ask the Priest to skip service and then you're in line with the Church. You might concider finding a Mass that has a 'cying room'. Many times, we find energy at church and this is what you may need to feel better. Free will lets you take eithor of the suggestions I gave you. God Bless!!!

No, today is not a Roman Catholic Holiday Day of Obligation. Only Easter Sunday is (all Sunday's are Holy Days of Obligation).

As a newly minted Catholic (I take my final steps at Easter Vigil), I was told that it would be nice to attend tonight, but that it isn't obligatory.

Read the Bible and pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance. You don't need to go to the church for holiness.
