Why do preachers preach about tithing and not about homosexuals I go to church regulary and I can count on one hand the times I have heard a preacher in the past year say anything about homosexuality being wrong but every time I step into a church the very first thing I hear is give God his tithing do you think this is right

I guess you are going to the wrong church?

the pastor at the church I am attending right now, talks about all sin... a LOT! whether it is gossip or lying or porn or homosexuality or sexual infidelity or whatever. It isnt a church where you go to 'feel all good and happy' but where we can learn the truth about the word

I hear more about the sins we are falling into than tithing... so i guess it is varied by church.

(now, never does our pastor say 'so and so' is sinning by doing this or that... he just talks about sin in general... people that get all upset are usually the ones that are doing those things but the pastor didnt even know about it. they get convicted by the truth rather than by accusations)

I noticed that at a church I was attending and was just as frustrated as you. Then I looked around me and noticed that many people there were homosexuals and I guess there has to be a place for them to worship and feel comfortable. Also, there is a fine line now a days between preaching the gospel and being judgmental. I think some ministers are scared to cross that line.

By the way, I left that church.

Many churches are run like businesses. The preacher (a human being) probably knows that funds are tight and is asking for money instead of trusting the Lord to take care of the needs.

That is like a preacher preaching that killing is wrong in the christian church. Some things are just common sense.

Man - what churches are YOU going to?
Seriously, there is no integrity in that kind of "preaching."
However, all sins are equal in the eyes of God, so sexual behaviors (like adultery and homosexuality) are just as "evil" and "sinful" as slander, gossip or envy. And BTW - being homosexual is not and can never in itself be a sin - humanity is full of lusts of all kinds! It is the activity or behavior that is sinful NEVER the person. Which is why chastity is what should be taught for all people = sexualy rellations are to be ONLY between a husband and wife. That seems pretty clear - simple but NOT easy!

I guess that depends on the church you go to. I've heard preachers preach against homosexuality. They even preached that it was a sin for women to wear blue jeans. Not that it's a sin but I've heard it all.

i personaly don't think there is anything wrong fwith homosexuality but religions do and they have the right to. The reason preachers don't preach about things like this is they really can't because then the gays will complain and differant things like that and the preacher is screwed.

What has become of the Church?
It's insanity, I swear.
A preacher being more concerned with money which can be put to good use by the parish than with condemning and vilifying his fellow human beings.
Where's the fire?
Where's the Brimstone?
Where's the eternal damnation to a seething pit of flame?
All the passion has gone out of the church since they took on that idea of spreading Love instead of Hate.
I'd find a new church.
That one's obviously gone soft.

I would hope your preacher follows the leading of God concerning his preaching. If you tithed, it wouldn't bother you.

First of all tithing is garbage. I'm not saying you shouldn't give because you should. (see link).

Secondly, why do you need someone in your church to tell you homosexuallity is wrong or give you a sermon on it. You can go to the bible yourself and learn about whatever you want.
