I think Easter is a beautiful amalgamation of the original pagan fertility festival Eoster and the Christian belief in Christs' spiritual and perhaps physical ressurection.

So do you see how he put Himself through all of that because he loves you and so that you wouldn't have to eternity apart from Him? The best way to show someone you love them is to humble yourself and put yourself in harms way just so that they can live fully. That is what God did for us. You don't have to believe it but if you don't that's your own sad story.

Jesus died on the cross for us and came back from the dead three days later. I think it was three. The eggs mean new life I think.

It is a wonderful celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ who died in my place for my sin and the sin of the world. And one day, "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." Because of His sacrifice, I now know that I will spend eternity with Him in heaven.
