I suggest becoming a foreign service officer. These are diplomats. They work for the state department in embassies around the world. There are about 165 embassies around the world and most other countries have a consulate. This is a great way to travel and get paid. They make decent money and work typical business hours. Plus you would work with local people constantly. This gives you the opportunity to learn the local cultures and languages.
The only problem is it requires a degree and the written and oral tests are pretty difficult.

Some corporate events teams do a lot of pre-travel to check out locations for Sales Leaders Conferences and other events that require someone to go ahead and scout the hotel, ballroom space, local restaurants and other things that the company will want to either use or offer to their employees. We have a team that travels to the location about 2 weeks in advance to make sure everything is ready for when the rest of the team arrives. They also show up a day before everyone and leave a day later. Not to say that it isn't work, because it is...but it does allow you to travel to some great places.

Well, you have a few options. You could be a flight attendant for an airline that has flights to destinations you would enjoy. You could also propose a show idea to netwroks like Food Network or the Travel Channel, but some experience in cating and travel is probably neecssary. You could porbably learn a great deal by beoming a flight attendant and make sure to write down all your experiences, and take photos. If you have powerful enough ideas and concepts, you could be hired for a travel magazine or network.

There are several careers that focus on travel - airline attendants, for one, cruise ship employeees, travel writers for newspapers and magazines (many of them start off as freelancers before they connect with a publisher) It helps if you can supply photos as well. If you have a nice home you can do home swaps in countries around the world - and that is a super way to travel because you have a home base in the country where you are staying.
Another other possibility is the diplomatic corps. How are your language skills? How high is your cultural awareness level?
There are also a number of multinational companies,if you have a skill that they need, and they will transfer you to various centers around the globe. Again, you need language skills for that.
Itchy feet really need to find new turf to explore, and I hope it works out for you.

I did the Japanese Exchange Teaching Program. Most of these kinds of programs around the world require a BA degree. You could teach English and do a lot of traveling, too. Just look into the programs. Mine was Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Some other programs have late shoifts and weekend work. Good Luck.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I used to travel the US, stopping in at local strip clubs to fund my trips. I never made it to Britain or Australia, but I finally settled in FL after 4 years of on/off travel. I still have the travel bug, but now I just save money for a couple mini vacays a year. Good Luck!

A friend of mine is a travel agent. She doesn't have to take pics or write about them but she does take pics of her travels to show to clients. Then i am sure there are some sort of brochures or something that she could write up experiences in the company brochures or something of personal experience. Look around. There's bound to be something! Good Luck

Try asking local papers or magazines to let you write pieces for the. A lot of time they will help pay for some of your travel costs or give you a stipend. Try applying to be a writer for a travel magazine or National Geographic or something. You could also try writing a book and getting it published.
Good luck on that!
