I really don't know what to tell you. I have two close neighbors who have had the surgery. Both have lost some weight but neither has achieved a status that I would call a trim tight body.
One is a year or two younger than I am, she is about 57. She was on several medications including blood pressure and diabetes drugs. She is now drug free.
The other lady is an adopted grand child. She adopted me when her grand father died. She is loosing weight, through the bypass and a lot of exercise. As I said neither of these ladies have lost enough to get anywhere near a hot body look.
To you I will say what I told my adopted grand child. Get the surgery if you want it. BUT, before you do talk to someone or more than one someone about the down side. It is a VERY significant life style change. IMO if you adopted the change without the surgery you might be just as well off.
Well there you have it, the idle ramblings of an old man. I really hope you can do something, your kids still need you and you are a long way from being an old woman.
BTW, if you want to talk, I am available through my profile.

Why don't you try to go on the 9mo Dr supervised diet? It might really help and even if it doesn't, at least your health insurance will agree to pay. One of the best ways to lose weight and stick to a healthy diet is having someone there to tell you what to eat. I know you feel hopeless right now but I'm sure things will turn around for you. Just have a little more faith in yourself and believe you can do it. If not for yourself, then do it for your children. I'm sure they wouldn't want to hear their mother say that she'll just give up and gain more weight until she's dead. Am I right?

ok, my old boss was in the same position as you are in. He did do the Gastric Bypass... Now with that said, he also had to show where he did the diet... But, he never did the "fixed" diet by his dr. His Dr. required that and what he ended up doing was going to another Dr. and they reccommended the surgery. He told the Dr. that he had tried everything possible... he really had, just not the 9 month long deal! Try to go to a family dr. even their referral is enough sometimes. Best of luck to you!

There is this reallyy good book my mom read when she was overweight and she lost soo much weight. It was a lot of sacrifice though. She didn't have milk or dairy products she cut down on sugar and white flour. She barely ate meat and made sure she always ate vegetables at good portions. It also helps to eat small portions at a time throught out your day rather than stuffing yourself or anything like that. Avoid eating out. I can't recall the names of the books now but it had a lot about what the media doesn't tel lyou about common everyday products. Goodluck and don't worry there is hope. Also make sure you include excersise cause without both you won't get anywhere.

Go to weightmelter.net, they have absolutely excellent weight loss programs and products that can help you lose weight. If you're serious about losing weight and you seem serious, I'll check it out. I have a friend that loss 30 pounds in 4 months, about 2 years ago. That was after he tried so many other programs and diets that didn't work for him. So, I'm sure you can get similar results as well.

1. Get AWAY from the computer. I gained quite alot of weight after I got my new desktop (I surfed the internet instead of surfing at the beach for about 2 weeks).
2. Throw out all cheese puffs, ice cream, etc. (they don't have much nutritional value anyway)
3. Walk every morning/ afternoon.
I am sorry you have muscular schlerosis. My father has it too :(
Instead of doing excercises standing up, you can do them lying down or on the bed. This will usually result in no pain and will improve your legs, abs GREATLY.
For example: lie on your back and pretend to cycle. Because your feet down actually contact a surface, they will not hurt.

My advice to you is to be as healthy as you can bare to be for the next nine months, maybe you'll surprise yourself and if not then your insurance will take over from there. Never ever give up clearly you are too strong of a woman to give up, You've got seven children! there is always hope. I hope this helps.

dieting alone wont work, you need to exercise. If it has come down to life a life threatening issue then the next best thing is gastric bypass surgery not liposuction. For most people I think gastric bypass is a easy way out, but for your case It could save your life.

weight loss surgery is not always the answer, I had the surgery 1-1/2 years ago, it was great at first, (lost 75 before than 25 came back after) then I developed a stricture and closed off my lower stomach, and ended up stretching it out bigger than it was prior to surgery, you may want to tray a different doctor, they may offer different payment options
