and to answer your question, if you mean the church founders as in the Council of Nicea, then no. They were simply doing as ordered by Constantine to unite the empire.

Are you sure it has not been sold yet? Have you observed that the founders have big palaces, temples and businesses? Why they are rich until now and most of their larger crowds are living in poverty? Did you not know that Christianity introduced the first world banking system?

This is the betrayal that Jesus spoke of at the last supper. Judas did not betray Jesus, Peter did, More the 2000 years has passed since Jesus ordained his Apostles, but by the time John the Baptist wrote Revelation they had already sinned, as they had after the Crucifixion. None of them believe Jesus.

That happened long ago - shortly after Rome fell. (Actually, Rome has not - fallen - yet.) Rome just changed its Political power, into Spiritual Power. (See second horseman who had been given a great sword.) for all outward appearances.
How many adherants does the catholic church have? I'd say it was pretty successful.
