It would double, wire two four ohm coils in a series and you would have 8 ohms. Wire in parrallel and the ohms would cut in half. 4 ohms and become two ohms.

the ohms add together. A 4ohm in series with a 4 ohm would be a total of 8 ohms

They would be added together unless one was a coil/magnetic speaker and one was a Piezzo Crystal speaker. If that is the case then you would need to recalculate the resistance (ohms) using a vector formula, hopefully they are both coil speakers. Some of you high powered tweeters are the crystal kind.
