I have seen many women golfers. Why aren't they allowed to play at The Masters?

Augusta National has a very traditional history. Golf actually stands for "gentlemen only, ladies forbidden," and Augusta National upholds that tradition.

Plus, the LPGA (Ladies Pro Golf Association) has their own tournaments. The abilities are a little bit different. Women generally just don't have the same skills as men. That is changing rapidly, but it's still kept very seperate. There are alot of women golfers, but they don't mix in tournaments.

Wow, a lot of sexists here. Just kidding.

Unfortunately, the guy who owns the course (Augusta National) is a sexist. Basically, women have their own tour, and haven't tried to play in the Masters. Honestly, there really are no women in today's game that can compete. If Michelle Wie could play under pressure she'd have a chance, but I don't think it'll happen yet. I'm not saying women aren't good enough, but currently, their aren't any women who have the physical abilities, concentration, and poise to play in the Masters.

#1 Just like Tennis has the ATP(MEN) and WTA (Women) Golf has the PGA and LPGA. Very different levels

#2 A women would have to qualify, but it's not as easy as it looks. Even Annika Sorenstam couldn't make the cut at the Colonial.Michelle Wie still has yet to do well in any male golf event let alone ever being able to qualify for the Masters.

Only sports where gender doesn't matter shooting, horse racing, equestrian, and motor sports. The sport of Korfball. You also have table games like bridge, chess, and poker. I also see no point to gender separation in bowling. Dance sports require male/female partner. Mixed pairs and ice-dancing. Sailing is also mixed in some events.

I also believe that the Masters has a rule that it is a Male only tournment. A few years ago the news made a big deal about this, but I believe that this rule is still in place.

Two reasons

1) They have their own tournament.
2) Generally they aren't good enough.

But mostly because of 2. Remember a few years back in another tournament, when some guy gave his spot to the top woman golfer...She didn't even make the cut.

Women are not excluded.

To play in the Masters you have to win a PGA event or the US amateur. When a woman does that she'll be allowed in the field.

The players in the Masters all qualify by being on the money list or winning a PGA tournament, etc.

There has not yet ever been a woman meet the qualifying criteria.

Women dont play in Mens majors.

I think you meant to ask why are women not allowed to play at Augusta.

I will have to say because women dont belong on the PGA Tour let alone 5 miles near Augusta...they have their own tour, stay and play there!
