Jesus was many things- Son of God/Son of man/ God-Man.
God( Elohim ) gave up his glory and became sin for those of us that are his.

I have been in Christ Jesus for 27 years. many times this problem has come to me, presented one way or another. I have to admit , I was closed minded to it and did not even consider the possibility.
We know that Christ was without sin and he felt pain sorrow etc. As Christ the man , he had to have felt all we feel.

The word of God tells us better to marry than to burn.

If Jesus had married Mary M. that would not have been a sin and to bare children , also not a sin.

My feelings about this , I am open. I am not disturbed either way. I am open to proof, not the opinions of man either way or the Church. The highest authority is the Bible .

We assumed that the apostle that Jesus loved was John as Jesus said at the cross to his mother , Woman behold your son.
Mary , mother of Jesus was to be mother to the young apostle.

What are your feelings?

Hi dude, this question always make the hypocrites talk out aloud though some of the answers were alright.

There will always be people against the Lord Jesus and that is life. They believe but they have shallow lives that they are so confused about what they see and what they dont see and how their lives are twisted. By sin.

I agree with your answer from my heart. Very true. look at how the muslims bond together east to west, but sadly the christians have so much enemity and ego and pride. Thats why they always fight.

Someone even brought up the name of Dan Brown. That sinner has lost all his money to court room cases and they have arrested him for robbing someone elses idea and made it into a full blown crappy story.

Let Christ reign in us all. I always want us to be united whereever we are. We need to go to heaven. I want to be there and no matter what we do or sin or say, let us love God and believe and be happy.

It would not have been a sin for Jesus to be married.

But how could God have had a Grandson?

I don't believe that God wanted to start a royal line on earth, and if he did, we would sure know about it.

Sex is not a sin, sex outside marriage is, there is NO evidence that Jesus ever married.

Holy Mary is the mother of the whole Church, if you are open to proof, you should at least consider what the Catholic Church teaches about this, after all, Jesus started the Catholic Church 300 years before the Bible that you are considering the highest authority.

Peace and God Bless.

and Good Question.

I think this is a moot point.

If you beleive the Bible, then you beleive Jesus wasn't married. I've read some of the responses to this and if Jesus were married that wouldn't have been sin, in and of itself, but Jesus knew where his life was going - the cross. So i think he chose not to marry because he was so focused on his life goal and didn't want to cause a potential wife so much pain. Also, you quoted 1 Corinthians where Paul says "It's better to marry than to burn." but you miss that he said in the opening of his discussion about marraige that he felt it was better to NOT marry as to be married divides one's life between pleasing God and pleasing one's spouse. Jesus is the most committed person to God there ever was and so did not marry.

Someone said Jesus married after the resurrection and that's again not found in the Bible - and not because the church is covering anything up. The church would have had to doctor the whole New Testament in order to cover up a marraige of Jesus even before His resurrection. Throughout the NT you read that Jesus' post-resurrection position is in heaven as another part of the whole salvation plan. Jesus is now at the right hand of God and all power and authority is under him. This is a theme integrated throughout scripture.

This DaVinci Code stuff has gotten far too much press from Christians. I'm not saying bury your head in the sand regarding things people say that contradict the Bible but the Apostle Paul said it best:

Whoever teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the true words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching of our religion is swollen with pride and knows nothing. He has an unhealthy desire to argue and quarrel about words, and this brings on jealousy, disputes, insults, evil suspicions, and constant arguments from people whose minds do not function and who no longer have the truth. They think that religion is a way to become rich.

If Jesus had married Mary M. it would not have been sin because according to the bible marriage is the only way allowed by God that people are to have children. But thankfully Jesus didn't marry Mary M. because that would not have made Him the perfect sacrifice for sins.

The apostle John wrote (by the Holy Spirit and instruction of God) the book of John. When he writes in first person that "John was the disciple that Jesus loved" he was only giving a testimony as to how he knew that Jesus loved him. If no one else does it and you believe it, you had better tell some one that Jesus loves you! That is all John was doing. There was nothing seedy or sinful about the statement just a simple profession of the One he knew loved him.

We are not assuming anything when we say Jesus gave John the responsibility of taking care of His mother. It's actually very clear especially in the Greek.

Another point people miss, if Jesus was married He would have had to provide for His family. It would have been very difficult to do that while walking through the countryside teaching and healing. There would have been some mention of their returning to His family. The Bible mentions Peter's mother so one could conclude that it would have mentioned if Jesus had gone to see His family. The only time Jesus' family is mentioned is when Mary sent His brothers to get Him while He was preaching. The people of Nazareth also made comments about Him being the carpenter's son but never about the husband of X.

When I read through the Bible, it often lists as one of the worst situations in which a person could find themselves (especially in the society in which Jesus lived) as being a widow with a fatherless child. Time and again the Bible list that as a tragic situation.

There is the financial strain placed on such families - even today where women are allowed to hold jobs and own properties. Then there is the emotional scar place on a woman when her husband dies. Especially if that death is cruel, unjust, torturous, and performed right before her. Then there is the child, being raised without a father's influence or love. Always have that question about why he had to die, why he had to leave.

Knowing that he had come to sacrifice his life. Knowing that the suffering of the cross lay before him. Knowing that he would depart earth and never be able to again touch, comfort, support or love his wife. Knowing that he would not be there to raise his child. I have a hard time believing that Jesus would have deliberately inflicted that kind of pain and heartache on to Mary or any other woman.

To me, that would have been a cruel and sinful action.

Sexuality, the animal nature, came about after the fall of man from the spiritual to the carnal (they were naked and not ashamed). Man fell from God to the woman. It was part of the plan. Fallen man procreates, not real spiritual man.

Only that born of God is sinless, not that born of man's seed. Jesus came from God's seed and was not born with sin. Therefore, having come from God and returned to God instead of leaving God for a woman, he was able to fulfill the plan of breaking the back of sin and death. Sin and death took something it should not have, a sinless man. God broke the spell through a sinless Jesus.

Had Jesus entered into a woman he would have had to take on the fallen nature and he would have been useless as a perfect sacrifice.

The Jesus Magdalene thing is just another force in the world trying to throw more confusion into the church during the last days. What a better way to enslave the disciples than with sex.

No it would not have been a sin for Jesus to have married or even to have a child. Yet it was clear that this was not the purpose for him.

There is no sufficient evidence that suggest that Jesus was every married to Mary M. Perhaps you should watch the History Channel's special called Beyond the DaVinci code.

The majority of modern scholarship believe that Jesus existed and also believe that it is very unlikely that he married Mary M.

It would not have been a sin for Jesus to marry Mary Magdelene and have children. There is no evidence in the Bible that says He did this, though.

It is unlikely that He did marry because He devoted His entire life to spreading the Good News and having a family might have conflected with this. (This is also the reason priests do not marry).

Yes, Jesus told His apostle John to take Mary, His mother, into her home. This is why Catholics call Mary our mother. We are all disciples of Christ and we take Mary into our homes.

The one other interpretation of John is "woman (my wife Mary) behold your son (our son Judah)".

Like you I don't understand what the fuss is about. Sex within marriage is not considered sinful by most christians, neither is having children. For jews, on the other hand, being married was a requirement for a rabbi and was expected of everyone else.

I can easily accept the case that the gospels don't name the wife of Jesus or any children for fear that she would be in danger. At the same time, they don't mention that he had gotten married because he was a 33 year old male - of course he was married - they don't mention that he has to go to the bathroom either.
