I also crave sweets after a meal, actually, I crave sweets all the time. There are few tricks I use on myself to try and satisfy my cravings without going overboard. I hope some of these help you:

1. pick a fruit that is sweet enough for you, instead of a chocolate bar; if it is still not sweet enough, put a bit of sweetener on it
2. drink plenty of water before and during your meal; you will feel very full and most likely won't feel like eating anymore
3. I force myself to put some thought before putting 'junk' into my mouth; it is quite hard to do at the beginning but you get used to it.
4. try to take a short walk after lunch/dinner; it might get your mind off of sweets (depending how bad is your craving)
5. occupy yourself with something else that you enjoy doing for 15 minutes or so, until your cravings subside.
6. Don't deny yourself 'guilty pleasures'; the more you do it, the more you will think about it and end up caving in, but be mindful of the consequences.

Don't stress over your eating habbits; if you do cave in, walk / work out a little longer... and good luck :)

Maybe you have a sweet tooth like me. Girl I be cravin candy all day long. I think if you let yourself have a tiny tiny bit once a day then you are somewhat satisfied but you're barely eating any so you won't gain weight. Maybe your meal was great but it just wasn't sweet. If you have a sweet tooth and seriously crave sweets...that is something that started when you were little. You may have been fed too much sugar early and developed a preference for sugar. Just maybe try having a bite size snickers after a meal..just one. Then go out for a walk or something to distract you. It will soon pass. After we eat, our blood sugar goes up and that means that our body says more more more..even if we ate something healthy. Make sure you stay away from white breads/rice/pasta, processed carbs, and sugar in your meals as those have a high glycemic index and make you want more. Peace.

that is soooo me! after EVERY meal i have to have some kind of sweet -- so what i do now is - i will have like a small bite sized piece of chocolate - rather than a whole bar --- or have one of those 100 calorie packs. Or just have a really sweet piece of gum ... only 10 calories!

try that - see how it works. Good luck

I suggest not having snickers in your house or any of those things. To me that is the best way to stop cravings for something because if it's not at my reach I'm obviously not going to have it. Just don't get withdrawls or anything (:

If you really need a sweet treat at the end of your meal, go for something that has fewer calories. I like to have a Hershey's kiss after my meal. They're only about 25 calories and won't blow your diet.

I have the same problem. What I do is suck on a small piece of small hardy candy once or twice a day. Not too many calories and gets rid of the craving.
Good luck!

Maybe try chromium. It prevents from having a "sugar crash". Look it up.

cut carbs, it's the carbohydrates that make you crave sweets.
