We're going on a trip and I want to download some good songs for my little one to hear in the car. Any good recommendations as far as bands/songs for a pre-school aged child? So far, he really has taken to 'Ralph's World' and They Might Be Giants.

I like pretty much all the music featured on something called Jacks Big Music Show. Many are bands for kids, but not like Row Row Row your Boat, and have bands adults would like too. Some artists from the are Laurie Berkner, Hot Peas and Butter, Justin Roberts, Milkshake.

Search on jacks big music show, then you can look over of the videos and see what you like. You can also order the CD from the first season of the show or download it.

We also like 50's stuff, like the Beach Boys, and those ramalamadingdong type songs. if you dont get much here, try going to ITunes Imixs and search on todlers or kids.

Veggie Tales. I know they are known for being christian affliated, so I guess depending on that, they have the funniest songs. If you're not religious they have "silly songs" with larry that might be better off. They are hillarious, I promise. I actually have one of the cd's. Its been one of my favorites since I was little, and just couldn't bare to give it up. lol

If you can tolerate it, anything Raffi ("Jane, Jane" is awesome), both of my kids love the Barenaked Ladies (especially "Million Dollars"), any ska (they love the Toasters and "Message to Rudy", regardless of who is covering it), Troutfishing In America is good, too. And every kid I know seems to dig "Cha Cha Cha" and "Chain Gang" by Sam Cooke.
Try to mix 'em up a lot...that way you don't go nuts....
