can they lay there eggs while attached to humans and or animals? should I take her to the DR. I read that this tick is known as one of the biggest lyme disease carriers in the united states. what should I do? I pulled the tick out and cleaned the area on her head where the tick was attatched. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

try to see if the place where the tick bit looks like a bull's eye. there's a reddish rash that forms when Lyme disease is contracted.

Contrary to popular belief the head does not stay stuck in the skin. So don't worry about that. The bite will remain red & itchy for several days & can be treated as any insect bite.

As for Lyme disease contact your local poison control or enviromental health and ask if there are cases in your area. They will be able to tell you if you need to have her checked.

As a dog groomer I have been bitten my many ticks but I am Ok. Just call and find out if there are cases in your area.

You are going to want to make sure you didn't leave the head under the skin. Keep an eye on it. It shouldn't get infected. They don't lay eggs while they feed. Lyme disease is definitely carried by ticks, but very rarely do people actually contract it. Call your doctor if you would like some more advice.
