There are more things that a physician needs to know to be able to evaluate your child's complaint. Things from past medical history, recent exposures, duration of cough, time of occurrence....It could be many things (upper respiratory viral infection, allergy, cough-variant asthma, TB, etc...) and it would be very irresponsible to try to guess what he has. If the cough has been lasting for more than 4-5 days, take him to his pediatrician...

There can be a lot of factors that cause cough. For e.g. infection, allergy, etc.

As your child is so young it would be best that you go and visit a doctor or pharmacist so that they can assess your child and prescribed the medication that suits him ost.

sure allergies can cause that.....suggest that you have the child drink lots and lots of water, every time you turn around be offering the child something to drink. This is sootheing to the throat and maintains hydration.
