yes, that is simple but to the point and will be greatly appreciated by any friend that you wish it too

there are more elaborate greetings that one Jew might wish to another but Happy Passover is just as sufficient and the easiest to pronounce

I certainly would and having checked online for what Passover greeting cards say, that is certainly the proper greeting.

To the person who told you to say "Happy Easter" I would point out that in a number of languages "Easter" and "Passover" are the same word.

yes it is. You could also say some hebrew terms like
chag so'ma'ach
pesach so'ma'ach
It means happy holidays and happy passover.

I told a Jewish couple Happy Passover and they liked that I said that. So I think it's okay.
