I've been getting bit. I live in a townhome, and soon after I moved in, I noticed that my childrens' room smelled a little like hamsters, the woodchip smell. Then I've noticed that while we're downstairs, we're always getting bit by something I can't see. Its just downstairs, and it ISNT fleas, I've had a dog, and the bites are different, they are as tiny as a flea bite though. What could it be?

bedbugs are on the rise this year. This could be what you are talking about. Just go on Web.Md and check it out..if u have any symptoms go to a doctor and have a test done. There are preventatives. Good Luck!

Girl my friend had the same exact thing happen to her at her new home. The problem was scabies. It comes from alot of domestic animals like cats and dogs, but its carried mostly be rodents, such as hamsters or guinea pigs. They give on parasitic mites that cause the rash like bites. You need to either set off flea bombs, have the place treated by a professional or worst case have the carpet taken up... because thats where the dander lives. See your doctor for treatment for the bites... they can give you cream to help.
Good luck!

P.S. If you have any animals, have them treated also. Its very painful for them to get it and they can lose their fur.

My first guess would be fleas....though....

What ever they are they must be some sort of parasite insect. I would either complain to the landlord or just go get aerosol bombs and fumigate the entire townhouse. Read the instructions as you might need to do it a second time to destroy the ones that hatch out from the eggs that were there when you bombed the first time.

Possibly "mites". The bites are nickel-size and itch for days. Our dermatologist knew right away and told us to get rid of the rats. Mites are almost microscopic and are attracted to rats and I suppose hamsters (as mentioned in your query). You might also see large, low flying flies around. Sure enough, we first got rid of the rats (we didn't even know we had them) and then purchased a mite poison at Orchard Supply and sprayed as directed. Remember too, there are many kinds of mites.

It definately sounds like bed bugs, hence the name doesn't mean they only live in the bed. However, they are resilitant little bastards. You may want to take all drapery done and have dry cleaned, all blankets, flooring (i.e.) carpeting and everything you can possibly thing of. You will also need to get thouse bombs for bugs. They are ridicously hard to get rid of but wil continue to manifest and bite. Good luck to you!

Mites that have hatched out since the hamsters left: http://www.hamsters.co.uk/hamster_mites.htm

You probably won't be able to see them well if at all. I would spray everything with Raid and leave until the Raid fumes are gone. That is just about the only way of killing them. They have hatched out and don't have hamsters to bite.

Their have been circumstances whilst somebody rings the doorbell and that i don't be attentive to who they're. How am I meant to be attentive to it they're casing my residing house or no longer? One time this black guy got here and he does no longer tell me why he replaced into there. He reported and that i quote "i'm a only yet another scarey black guy". I advised him interior the direction of the door that i did no longer care what colour he replaced into. If he could no longer tell me why he replaced into there than i could no longer open my door. you do no longer might desire to respond to the door to all people that comes. this is why God invented keyholes. i does no longer be petrified of your new acquaintances, yet that does no longer mean that i does no longer be careful.
