they already do in some states, at least in public areas. i think that it is really up to the preso whether or nto they want 2 smoke, its like prohibition...alcohol was used by 2 many people to keep it illegal but more laws are on it now.....i think it should be banned in public places :)

here are some websites... (all using statistics)

why does anyone want to ban smoking? Most say because smoking kills, it is unhealthy. Well, I submit that using that logic is faulty.....how many thousands die on our freeways every day? Do we then ban driving? What ever happened to letting a person take responsibility for their own actions? What ever happened to the freedom of choice we used to enjoy? It is not the government's job to keep us healthy, that is our job....no one forces anyone to smoke, it is a conscious choice and as americans, those who choose to smoke and do so without injuring others have that right. When you make the government into a parent, you end up with a totalitarian state...frankly, I'd rather die.

Ban, yes - band, no. But govt. won't ban smoking unlike marijuana. It is a legal substance, creating 1000's of jobs and it brings revenue. They will restrict smoking in public places but outright ban will not take place. The money they get from the tobacco companies is too high to attempt that.

Go to the website, www.heartandstroke.com - they have a list of items that smoking gives off with percentages and stuff.

another one to try: www.mayoclinic.com - type in "smoking" in their search page. You will get a ton of information.

Good luck.

Gamblers usually smoke so the government does not want to lose the money smokers will spend there. They can't smoke ? they will not come
