A friend said there is a great tour that leaves from Waikiki and takes a ferry over to Pearl and the Arizona memorial. Cannot find anything about it anywhere. Does anyone know the tour name or have contacts. We are staying at the Pacific Beach Hotel and want to try this tour, if it still exists. Thank you for the help.

There are many tours that head over that way (as Pearl Harbor is a major tourist destination). I would suggest that you check with the conceirge when you get to the Pac Beach, they should be able to either sign you up or point you in the direction that you should go.

Have a great trip!

Check the tour desk or outside at one of the tour booths. They can probably get you onto the tour. The buses usually leave first thing in the morning and return in the late afternoon.
The tour starts at the Arizona Memorial museum. You can see a brief movie about Pearl Harbor and the then you take a boat out to the Arizona itself. It's a truly awe inspiring experience to step on to the memorial knowing you are standing over the watery graves of over 1,100 young sailors who gave their lives.
If it is a clear sunny day, you will be able to see the outline of the ship below and also see the gun mount turrets (Now empty). If you look over the side of the memorial into the water, you might also see an occasional bubble of oil. That's the remnants of the oil in the ship that's leaking up after all these years.
Inside the memorial is a wall plaque with the names of all of the crew who were killed that day on the Arizona.
Again, it's an emotional day for some. Let's hope this never happens again.
Aloha!
We were just there this past December.

Don't waste money join this tour.

You can easy drive to Pearl Harbor/Arizona Memorial or just take a bus there from Waikiki. Only cost $2 per person one way. Ask the bus driver to tell you to get off at Arizona Memorial. They are pretty good at that. It is a famous place of interest.

At the Arizona Memorial visitors center, get a ticket at the entry, then, go in to see the documentary (about 20 min). Then, they will let you go on the FREE boat ride to Arizona Memorial (which is a memorial place on top of a sunken battle ship. After returning from Arizona Memorial, walk around the visitor center. There are plates of history.

All these cost nothing, but a donation is appreciated.

Next door is Bowfin and also the famous Mighty Mo Battleship. A fee required. But it is worth to join the tour on Mighty Mo Battleship. We spent about 4 hours there. Joined the guide tour and then, walked around the battleship by ourself. Very interesting history.

The front desk at your hotel can help you get that arranged. I lived in Honolulu for 2years and have gone several times. It is a moving experience.

There is no charge for the tickets. You have to get them the day of the tour, first come first served. You can get tickets for a group, but arrive early, before the tour groups get there.
