First of all, get it through your head that YOU ARE NOT FAT!!! And you do not need to lose weight. If you have a small "gut" as you call it, it is not because of fat, but rather it is most likely caused by waste in your color or intestines that needs to come out.

IF YOU WANT TO GET RID OF YOUR "GUT" DO A COLONIC. This will 9/10 times get rid of it. Cause 9/10 times, it's just waste that has not left your body.

You sound like you are pretty healthy already. Please be careful with losing weight!! In this day and age, people have an unhealthy attitude towards weight.

You can exercise, (which it sounds like you already are), but talk to a professional. There are people at the gym that will help you target a specific area.

Every body is different, and some people will have a small "gut". It's genetics, and all of the dieting in the world won't do you any good.

Good Luck!!

I completely agree with most of the other respondents, you do not need to lose weight. Some toning exercises might help, but it seems likely that the small gut is more in your head. Look at some real people, and be very very grateful to have a normal healthy body! A small gut is not at all worth sacrificing your overall health!

First of all being 5'9" and 127lbs isn't fat. If you have a small gut, then the thing is to do exercises that decrease that. Ask a trainer at the gym if they know of the best method to lose that belly and turn it into some flat abs. Sit ups are not really the thing. They sometimes make your belly build muscle. The best thing I ever did to lose my belly was to wash and vaccuum my car everyday. All that bending and stretching gave me the best body I ever had in my life. Not to mention the cleanest car I ever owned.

If you are 5'9 and 127 then you are not overweight. I am no fitness expert but it seems to me that you need to do some toning exercises that focus on your midsection. If you are starving yourself, you are only going to lose muscle. Precisely what you DO NOT need to do. Have you worked with a trainer at the gym? Maybe contact a nutritionist as well who can give you a good meal plan for eating high protein. Good luck.

You do not need to lose weight. If you don't like the body image then go ahead and work out to lose the gut but do not try to lose weight as that will not get rid of that belly fat. You are not overweight so that is not what is causing it.

Hope you are a guy. Even if you are not, I think you really need to rethink about losing your weight. Your mom is right. You are already underweight and losing more weight will only make you weaker.

In case you are a woman, dont make those skinny ramp models your role model. They look good only on the stage with those freaky outfits.

Because your mom is RIGHT. At 5'9 you are at a acceptable and appropriate weight. Anything smaller then that is too thin. She is scared that you are going to be anorexic/bulimic to get to that 'celebrity' thin weight, which is TOO THIN!!!

I just calculated your BMI here and you were just above underweight.

Another thing to remember is that when you work out you are gaining muscle which weighs more then fat. Please keep that in mind. 1200 calories a day is a bit little for a growing girl. Try to up to to 1500 calories. Keep working out, but you don't need to lose weight.

i recognize you do not desire to pay attention this yet: Your weight is nice on your height- distinctly as muscle weighs extra desirable than fat. in basic terms eat healthily- i could say approximately 1600-1800 cals on your weight and existence-form. decrease than that and you're depriving your physique of the potential it desires. What happens in case you oftentimes circulate under this? Your physique takes it from someplace else- regrettably not in common terms physique fat yet out of your kidneys additionally.
