Tino@
Who cares if a chick knows more about boxing than a man? Am I missing something??
"Pedritor" made many good points and whether you agree or disagree with him he sure seems to know about the game.
Anyway, I disagree with her, she thinks Floyd is overrated and a fraud. That doesn't make any sense to me, Floyd is an excellent boxer and you don't see that type of skilled boxers everyday so just appreciate what he does. When it comes to skills Floyd is up there with the best no matter what era. I don't agree with her, but that's her opinion though and I respect that.
Your answer is by far the worst though LOL
Floyd Sr was a a good/descent boxer and he lasted 10 rounds against Sugar Ray before he got KO'd. Floyd Jr is a GREAT boxer. They just have similar style of boxing, but Sr has absolutely nothing on Jr...Floyd would easily beat his father so forget about all that "they have the same genes" and that's why according to you Sugar Ray would toy with Floyd Jr? Yeah, even a 50 year old Sugar Ray would probably beat the pretty boy....That's some funny ****.
This is a difficult question to answer because Floyd's career is not over yet, I think we still haven't seen the best of him.
Anyway...There's no way Sugar Ray beats Floyd "easily". I see a good fight that would most likely go the distance. Right now I'd definitely favor a prime Sugar Ray to win on points because we all know how great he was and that he proved himself plenty of times but Floyd Jr is also an amzing boxer and it wolud be a competitive fight in my opinion.

Sorry guys, you blew it on this one. Ray was great and I was one of his biggest fans but he had his flaws. The reason he will be remembered is because he fought everyone in the 80s, the best in and around his weight class. He even went up and beat Marvelous Marvin Hagler, a 160 lb beast. But that was against a slower, older fighter who was only fighting once a year and by the time he fought Ray and who was only 13 lbs above Rays typical fighting weight. Mayweather, a 130 lb champ, has come up now 24 lbs in the last 4 years or so to fight de La Hoya (and he will win impressively). Floyd has better defensive skills and is just a tad faster so it would by no means, be a dominant performance by either one. I think Ray could win if it were a 15 round fight. Floyd I think would win over 12. Great fight.
p.s. to Kieran. You must be kidding. Jr. is twice the fighter his father was. You are in some serious denial son. I have watched the best fighters of the last 30 years and Jr. is right up there with the Sugar Ray, Pernell Whitaker, Donald Curry, prime Roy Jones Jr., Ricardo Lopez. And if you think Castillo, Corrales, Mitchell, Judah, Gatti, Baldomir, Chavez, Manfredy, Hernandez werent quality fighters then there is nothing I can say to convince you. He makes it look too easy and thats scary. And aside from Castillo I, he dominated them all. I respect your opinion however and let's just agree to disagree.

This can't be a serious question can it? I had to stop at this one because i chuckled when i saw it! Leonard would destroy Mayweather! Sugar Ray was one of the best fighters in history and fought all the top fighters of his era, including two of the most fearsome fighters of the 80's, Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns, and he beat them both. Leonard had all the speed and skill that you could ask for in a fighter, plus he had a ton of heart. He dug down deep and snatched a victory from Hearns in their first fight when he was behind. And he even stood toe to toe with Hagler in the 9th round when Hagler finally cornered him after being boxed silly all night, and Ray stood his ground and made Hagler back off. Not to mention beating Roberto Duran and Wilfred Benitez. Who the hell has Floyd beaten to even be put in the same category as Leonard? All he does is hit and run, and he won't even fight the top guys in his weight class. The only reason he took this fight with Oscar is because he thinks Oscar's best days are behind him at 34, but he's in for a big surprise. I can't believe everybody is buying into his garbage. He's so overrated, and Oscar will expose him for the fraud the he is on May 5th! And pedritor, it's a good idea not to have too many beers before getting on a computer, because you have to be drunk to think Mayweather would beat Ray Leonard! Are we talking about the same Sugar Ray? Maybe you're talking about Sugar Ray Seals from the 72 olympics. I hope you are!

Hey Pedri,
Im sorry, but I am going to have to SERIOUSLY disagree with you here, regarding SRL's flaws, and Floyd's defense.
Floyd learned his offense from his uncle, Roger Mayweather. He learned his DEFENSE from his Father...Floyd Senior. Sugar Ray knocked pops out in ten rounds.
Everyone loves Floyd Mayweather Junior and the hype that he brings to a fight. But the truth of the matter is that Floyd junior, does not have the pedigree that even his father had. His father fought more competitive fights than he has. Floyd Junior is excellent marketing and a babyface, but is not the pedigree...or the great fighter he has been made out to be.
Sugar Ray Leonard was only guilty of ducking Aaron Pryor, and no one could really blame him for that. The list that Floyd Mayweather has ducked has become ongoing.
Antonio Margarito
Shane Mosely
Kosta Tsyzu
Ricky Hatton.....
and so on...and so on.....
Hes not fighting the greats of his era. Hel*, hes not even fighting the greats of his AREA.
Lets call Floyd what he is...Roy Jones Junior, light.

Leonard is just as fast but stronger more aggressive has a tenacious will to win and he had huge heart i think it would have been a good fight but i ddon't think that there is a ring big enough for floyd to run from sugar ray if mayweather lived in that era I'm sure he would not be undefeated boxers like aaron pryor, tommy hearns and duran would have gave him a tough time

Ray Leonard beat the likes of Hearns, Hagler and Duran. Somehow I don't see Mayweather in that class.
Ray Leonard by 10th round KO.

Romeo answered this about as well as anyone could. Mayweather, as good as he is, is not in Ray's league and hasn't even come close to beating the type of opponents that Ray has in his career. Ray has the power and speed to bust through Floyd's defense and stop him late in the fight. Ray by a 10th round TKO.
