I, for one, am in favor of dropping a few atomic bombs on places like Iraq, Iran, etc., but the sad truth is, those people are here in this country, too! It's kind of like spraying a wasp nest on the side of your house with wasp killer only to find them building a nest in your garage. We are a nation with a huge open door that lets everyone from everywhere into our country. We can't turn certain people away because that would be "Un-American", and we can't turn them into "Americans" because that would be politically incorrect. But we can let them take over our country by giving in to their every want and need so nobody's feelings get hurt. You see, if we would stand by the principals and values that this country was founded on and stop letting the rest of the world in, then we could annihilate the whole lot of them. So even if we dropped the bomb on them in the middle-east, they would still be building their nest here and waiting for the perfect opportunity to sting us!

As long as there are humans there will be war, be it a civil war, revolutionary war, world war, terror war, drug war. The latter 2 cannot be defeated even temporarily and the first 3 are a threat to return at any time. Sure we could nuke the entire middle east and destroy all of the oil fields. The result would be something like the movie The Road Warrior. Such an action would end the world as we know it. We cannot win the people of Iraq to our side or those in the service of Al-Queda. All it takes is a small percentage of the population to commit the acts and a larger percentage to allow it to occur. The Iraqi's could stop this themselves, but they support their civil war actions with their own inaction. There's little the US can do to make them friends.

Yes. The War on Terror can be won simply by will. The Military is just one aspect of it. Extremist groups choose terrorism b/c they think it will be effectual. The way to permanently defeat terror is to render a track record that terrorism doesn't give you what you want. By willfully frustrating violent extremist groups, and NOT conceding to them, terrorism will be defeated in the long term.

Sure. We've had wars on terror before- the pirates and the anarchists used exactly the same tactics and were extremely successful in their days. It takes time and effort and perseverance, but it can be done. The worst method is trying to buy off the terrorists (or pirates before them) - because the more they get the more they want.
The method which worked against the pirates seems best- find out where they live and hunt them down to the last man.

Winning the war on terror is like trying to win the war against crime all together. IT CAN'T BE DONE. All that can be done is keep fighting it. It's that simple. If the lieberals think that it can't be done then that one thing they are right about. Winning the war on crime can't be done either but we still keep fighting it.

Yes if we got the press out of it and took out all stops and tell the military "do what you have to do, short of nukes, to win this war."

The only thing that keeps us from winning this war are Democrats!!!!! They will be responsible for our destruction. People forget Carter (Democrat) started this mess and Clinton (Democrat) Made it even worse handing Iran it's ability to build a bomb. America can not survive another Democrat President

We can't win the war on terror at all. The sad fact is, we can annihilate a civilization, but this isn't a civilization. It's an ideology. Terror in of itself applies to us... do we not play the bully, globally? We are the only country, in our eyes, that is allowed to have any nuclear arsenal of any sort. Evil is a relative term... if we want to win the war on terror, we're going down with the rest of the world.

Can't happen. Who is the terrorist anyway? How about we mind our own business and stop letting the dollar control our foreign policy. When everything is based on money, "morality"
is thrown out the window. We rape peoples resources so we can live in comfort.
