to shoot a million things a minute...maybe.
the weapon i think you are talking about is 'metal storm'. from what i've seen on tv it is designed to create literally a wall of bullets to take down incoming missiles/rockets, especially for naval vessels.
that's the reason it shoots a million rounds a minute. although that really is a misnomer because the weapon doesn't shoot for a minute, instead it's a blast that lasts for a couple of seconds and shoots thousands of rounds. but i guess technically if it could last a full minute it would shoot a million rounds.

I have seen guns like this on TV that are used to shoot down incoming aircraft and missile and things like that. I don't think a person would be able to hold onto or aim a gun manually that is firing over 16,000 rounds a second. I do not believe that a gun like this would do a criminal much good. It would be too large to carry and hard to use in a crime. The gun would need to be firmly attached to a structure of some sort and the ammunition alone would weigh too much to carry around. This type of weapon is only of much use to the military.

when there's lead in the air there's danger. but what that company does is make fully automatic AI sentries. pretty cool actually. the only problem with the gun itself is reloading.
