I had a root canal done recently and I am still in a lot of pain. My dentist prescribed advil and tylenol but I have a bad stomach and I can't take that many pills (5 in total). So I got some Tylenol one( same effect but only 2 pills), and the pharmacist said not to mix with advil. I can't find anywhere why not? Does anyone know why this is a bad interaction and whether there are any other...like alcohol and birth control?

If you take more than 1.35 grams daily it can increase the risk of kidney problems. However, short term combined use is okay as long as you are careful about it.
