If you like someone and you don't know if they like you back should you ask them out?

I like this guy and don't know if he likes me back, I want to ask him out but i'm afraid if he says no he'll never talk to me again.

well, i'm very torn on this question.
part of me says "YES DO IT" because, you never know.
and if you waste your time wondering than you could be wasting time spent with him as your boyfriend.
on the other hand, you could lose a close friend.

but if he was a true friend i think he would understand and even if he doesn't feel the same way he would still want to be friends with you.

i think you need to think hard about what you value more; your friendship or your utter and complete happiness.
personally i don't have the courage to do that, but i think you might!

I've been there myself. I have this friend whom i like so much and didn't know if he likes me, too. you see, i'm not a very confident girl, that's why i didn't dare to ask him if he did. one day,I just got a heartbreaking news that he passed away. He's got a leukemia and I had no idea.The day after he died, my teacher contributed letters to my classmates coming from him. When the last letter was given, they all looked at me because they know that we're really close friends yet i haven't got a letter. I started to feel an abysmal emptiness inside me but when i was about to cry, my teacher handed me his diary. I was really shocked and when i opened it, i was even more flabbergasted. He wrote how much he loved me but didn't dare to say because he's afraid to ruin our friendship. Well,now it's too late.
anyway, i just told you this as a little reminder that hearts are often broken by words left unspoken and sometimes, saying nothing and wishing you had is much more painful than saying something and wishing you hadn't.So,what are you waiting for? Ask him now before it's too late. who knows, maybe he feels the same way...and if he doesn't, to hell with him. at least, you've given it a try. It's his lost not yours.

Why do you think he'll never speak to you again? Just ask. The worst that will happen is he'll say no if he is not interested or already has a girl. I very much doubt that he won't speak to you agin or have any animosity. Good Luck.
