My friend and I are going to L.A. and we are going to The Price is Right. We did not want to rent a car and are looking for a safe hotel near the show and near the airport. Does anyone know of any? We would like it to be preferably around $125/night and under.

I had planned on staying at the Farmers Daughter until they raised the rates to $199-$209/night for the time we need.

"The Price is Right" is held at CBS Television City at 7800 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles. It is 10.5 miles from LAX to the studios. There are five lodging establishments with in 1/4 mile (walking distance) of the studios. I have not been in that area in a while, but I'm sure some other knowledgeable person can rate them for you. If you stay in this area, try to take in the near by Los Angeles Farmers Market, and Canter's Deli. Enjoy the show, and I hope you win a new car. All phone numbers are in area code 323.

There are dozens of websites listing hotels in LA, one I use for reasonably priced hotels is www.choicehotels.com. They list motels, as opposed to hotels, but I have stayed at a fair few and they are all clean and comfortable, and much cheaper than 200 bucks a night. They list a number of motels near the airport, though Century Blvd area is not the best place to stay if you are not using a car. LAX is also a good 12-15 miles away from Hollywood, there are some great reasonably priced motels near Hollywood.
If you not planning to use a car you may need to be near a subway station, though LA also has a good bus service.

You know, this is LA. You are probably going to need a car. In SF or NY, you really don't need one. Here, you do.
Try the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel, near Hollywood and Highland. It's a short drive to CBS, but you are near a lot of sights in Hollywood, like the Hollywood and Highland complex, the Chinese Theater, and the Walk of Fame.

The Farmer's Daughter hotel is nice and is near that area, don't know how much it is though. I stayed in a nice motel near there but I can't remember the name of it...but yes there are lots of hotels and motels near that area.
