The oatmeal carton should have a recipe.

From the Quaker Oats website: There are 3 oatmeal cookie recipes. I just posted one as an example.

vanishing oatmeal raisin cookies

ingredients
1/2 pound (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
3 cups Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1 cup raisins

preparation
1. Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; mix well. Add oats and raisins; mix well.
2. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Servings: ABOUT 4 DOZEN

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 to 1 1/2 cups raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, optional

PREPARATION:
Cream sugar and shortening together in a large mixing bowl. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Add vanilla then stir in oatmeal and raisins. Stir in nuts, if using.
Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake oatmeal raisin cookies at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes, until done.
Makes about 4 dozen oatmeal raisin cookies.

One great recipe is on the Quaker Oatmeal lid - Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies! I prefer the quick oats.

The first post, Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies, from the Quaker container are really good cookies. I've made them a ton of times. Also, search on www.recipezaar.com I'm sure they have a few hundred.

These are soft, chewy drops of heaven. They're less buttery than the recipe on the Quaker lid, so they rise more. Put them in tupperware and they stay soft forever. With chocolate chips they're really sinful. They last a day in my house.

Butter baking sheets.
Pre-heat oven to 350.
In a bowl with mixer, cream butter until fluffy.
Add dark brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Continue creaming until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla, blend well.
Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
Add dry ingredients to sugar mixture, blend well.
Stir in oats and raisins, combine well.
Drop cookies on baking sheets (I make them rather large so they're extra chewy) Bake 12-15 minutes until light golden brown.
Transfer cookies to wire cooling rack immediately to cool

Here is a great recipe for you to try...I make these about once a month... I always use the buttermilk option... ENJOY!!!

Grandma's Oatmeal Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk or regular milk
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, stir before measuring
1 teaspoon baking soda (decrease to 1/2 teaspoon if you use regular milk)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 cups quick cooking rolled oats
3/4 to 1 cup raisins

PREPARATION:
In a mixing bowl, cream together the shortening and brown sugar until light. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the buttermilk.
Into another bowl sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices.

Stir the sifted mixture into the creamed mixture until blended. Stir in oats and raisins. With a tablespoon, drop onto greased baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake in a preheated 400° oven for about 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Makes 4 to 5 dozen oatmeal cookies.

Chocolate Dipped Raisin Oatmeal Cookies

Preparation time: about 10 minutes
Baking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

3/4 cup butter or margarine softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick or old-fashioned oats
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)
1-1/4 cup white chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Directions:
HEAT oven to 350 degrees F.
BEAT butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, milk, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
COMBINE flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
ADD to butter mixture and mix well.
STIR in oats, raisins and walnuts (if desired). Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
BAKE 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets; cool on wire racks.
HEAT the chocolate chips and vegetable oil in microwave on medium power (50%) for about 2 minutes. Stir until chips are melted. Dip cookies half way up into chocolate. Set on a wax paper lined pan until cool, or refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
