Dry skin, combatting diaper rash, dipping bread in, keeping noodles from sticking together, frying things, tanning, the list goes on and on.

While I couldn't live without at least a gallon of olive oil in the house, I would not recommend it to be used topically for anything. It will weigh down hair and clog your pores.
Cooking is another story -- you can do just about anything with it (although not good for deep frying). Best choice for sauces, sautees, and eating raw (anything you would otherwise top with butter.. drizzled on veggies, rice, bread, etc)

I love to toast Focaccia bread and dip it in olive oil mixed with ground black pepper. This is a delicious snack with a red wine.

Olive is great to cook with it has good fats that we don't get enough of in are daily diets. Like polyunsaturated fat and monounsaturated fat. There are good for your skin, hair, heart and there are other health benifits. Best to get extra virgin.

I love olive oil......I prefer Spanish/Portuguese olive oil rather than Italian. They have better flavour.
I use it all the time with food.

i know for a fact that if you smash a banana or two w/ olive oil, and mix till it becomes creamy thick and apply it in your hair, you'll get amazingly soft hair.
