My family is full of JW's and they tell me that to acknowledge dinosaurs is to acknowledge evolution... I knew they were all crackpots!!!! No offence people.
OK, then, please explain evolution and the no blood rule in laymans terms?

ok people... calm down now.
I have conferred with some family, and i do profoundly apologise for any misinterpretation on my part.
It seems that my in-law was trying to stir me up on that one. She is not a very nice woman, and was trying to agitate me and my little boy at the time.(She does this often and still calls herself a Christian?)
I am sorry if my use of 'bizarre' is offensive. Absolutely not intended....
My husband grew up as/in a Witness household and no longer is a Witness. I have members in my own family as well. I fully respect your right to your beliefs and way of life, but I get really upset when I see small children missing out on the joys of Christmas and Birthdays.. (hence bizarre) I understand your logic behind it, but I just find it sad. My partner and all of his siblings bar 1, suffered deep depression as teens, from being ostracized as kiddies at school and social groups. A close friend of the family also recently lost their beautiful daughter due to no blood!

What are you talking about? There really needs to be some sort of screening process to submit questions here. Every day someone asks a completely ridiculous question like "Why do Jehovah's Witnesses sacrifice children to Satan every thursday?" and then 5 people will give answers like "Cuz they R a crazy cult!"
Let me answer a bunch of potential questions at once. Witnesses believe in dinosaurs. We except all scientific facts. We believe in the Bible, and adhere as closely as possible to the teachings within it.
Also, a note - most people who ask these questions KNOW that the questions are false, and simply want to mislead those who don't know, by getting them to thing "What? Witnesses don't believe in dinosaurs? What's wrong with them?" Thankfully, most people are intelligent enough to see through this. To those who fall for it every time, and just say "Yes, that's why they're ," a note - don't listen to everything you read in forums. Do some research in an encyclopedia or verifiable research site.
Edit:
Sorry if I got a bit worked up - most questions like these are posted specifically to target Witnesses. For the record, your family doesn't know what they're talking about.
As for "explaining evolution," I'm assuming you mean explain why we don't believe in it. In short, evolving different species goes not only against the creation account, but also science cannot verify that new species can evolve. Currently, any "proof" of evolution goes only so far as changes within species (but they still remain the same species).
As for "no blood," the Bible decribes blood as sacred. It commands both to not eat it, and also to "abstain" from it. We believe that while something like a transfusion is not explicitly stated in the Bible, that the principle is clear. Also worth noting, blood is dangerous to give to people. If it was a drug, the FDA would never approve it.

Not sure what your family members are thinking but we do recognise the existence of Dinosaurs, though I prefer to not recognise the existence of Barney:D Maybe there was some miscommunication.
I notice you said you have trouble understanding "bizarre" beliefs. Calling someone's beliefs "bizarre" can be offensive, and if your feelings came through in the conversations that may be why there was a communication problem.
Hope this helps:D

I dont know what you mean when you call your family "witnesses".Because Jehovahs Witnesses do not deny the existence of dinosaurs. We have had articles in the Awake magazine printed about dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs are not about evolution at all.
The Awake of 8th Feb,1990 on page 10 says this:"When the dinosaurs, had fulfilled their purpose,God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when.We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake,no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links,is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time."
There is also an interesting article in the Watchtower of 1973,7/15,page447.

There seems to be a significant misunderstanding among this questioner and her family.
Jehovah's Witnesses actually *DO* believe in dinosaurs. Unlike so-called "Creationists", Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the earth is untold thousands or perhaps millions of years old.
In the future, please consider hesitating before spreading outrageous misinformation about anyone.

The "no blood" rule is easy. Turn in your Bible to Leviticus 17:14, it will say "For the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood by the soul in it. Consequently I said to the sons of Israel: “you must not eat the blood of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood. Anyone eating it will be cut off." Did you notice that the Scripture said
the blood of any sort of flesh? Are you made of flesh? Yes you are.

Is that really true?
What, are they forbidden from reading books, other than the bible, as well? Are you "worshiping" books by reading them?
It that is true, I am almost speechless. Only a complete moron would ignore the amount of evidence that exists.

By 'believe in' I imagine you mean ....that they existed.
JW's accept that dinosaurs existed.
If, by 'believe in' you mean ...that dinosaurs are to be worshipped, then in that sense, they don't believe in dino's.
