I relocated from CA to TX in October 2006. I changed jobs within my comoany that required me to move. I payed for all of my own moving expenses. Now I want to write them off but I dont know what I can and can not write off. I have on my list for the actual move, "Moving container, Car transport, Air fair and Car rental".

Now I also made a couple of trips here toTX so I could find a place to live before I made my move. Can I write off those flights and car rental expenses as well? Is their anything else I am missing?

See http://www.irs.gov/publications/p521/index.html for info on deducting moving expenses. Most of what you mention is deductible, but you can deduct the cost of only one trip to your new home, so the house-hunting trips can't be used. Note that the rules say that if you're moving a family, you don't all have to travel together on the deductible trips.
