Girlfriend and her son want to move into my house , her son is 12 and gets ssi how will my earnings affect the amount he gets. will my income be counted in this. I know my girlfriends income is counted. and her income reduces his benifit. he has medical issues I do not think his health insurance will not change

Get married, then move in together. It will save you tons of headaches.

You are just the boyfriend - you have no legal claim to your girlfriends son so your income has nothing to do with his imcome. If you become married that will change the income he receives.

No your income will not affect the amount he will receive from SSI.. Only his mother's income

and NO you don't have to report SSI in income tax

SSI = Supplemental security income... its based on need and does not get reported to the IRS

Your income should not affect it unless you marry and adopt the boy.

They are going to live in your house, but will you be supporting them? If he is going to become your dependant, then yes, you will have to declare his ssi as income. If not, then his mom would.
